Call for Creative Acts, Artists and Experiences | March 2027
Tikka Banda is opening a call for creative acts, artists, performers and interactive experiences to form part of our 2027 event at Ta’ Qali National Park on Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th March 2027, from 9:00am to 6:00pm on both days. Following the 2025 and 2026 editions of Be Tikka Banda for a Day, the event is expanding into a two-day, family-friendly cultural experience centred around live music, creativity, participation and public space. For 2027, we are looking for creative contributors who can help make the park feel active, playful and full of discovery throughout the weekend
What are we looking for?
We are particularly interested in ideas that go beyond the traditional stage format and make use of the outdoor setting in creative ways. This could involve performance, music, movement, visual and live art, interactive installations, participatory activities, family experiences or more experimental concepts.
The categories above are only a guide. If you have an idea that is engaging, visual, participatory or simply works well in a public outdoor setting, we would still like to hear from you. We are especially interested in concepts that encourage audiences to join in, move, create, discover, listen or interact
What makes a good fit?
We are looking for ideas that contribute to the wider visitor experience rather than simply filling a performance slot. Concepts that are playful, visually interesting, participatory, engaging and suitable for an outdoor environment are particularly relevant to what we are developing.
Who is the event for?
Previous editions showed particularly strong engagement with families and children aged 3 to 10, especially through activities that were rhythmic, playful, visual and hands-on. For 2027, we also want to broaden the programme with experiences that can connect with older children, teenagers, adults and mixed family audiences.
How can your idea work?
We are open to different formats. An experience may move around the event site, remain within a dedicated area, happen once at a scheduled time or return several times throughout the day. This flexibility also means we are happy to consider existing projects that could be adapted to the setting, as well as concepts designed specifically for the event.
A note on budget
The 2027 event is being developed as a self-funded independent event, with the programme shaped around the resources currently available. We welcome proposals at different scales and encourage applicants to include an indication of their proposed fee. Where suitable, we are also open to shorter formats, repeated appearances, adapted versions of existing work or collaborative approaches that may suit the structure of the event.
Interested in taking part?
To help us understand your proposal, please include some basic information about the idea, any available visual material, practical requirements, preferred format and an indication of fees. You can also get a feel for the previous edition through our 2026 aftermovie and 2026 photo album.
For 2027, we want to create a park full of things to hear, see, discover, join in with and remember. If your work can add something engaging, original or participatory to that experience, we would love to hear from you. Please send your proposal to talent@tikkabanda.com by 11th November 2026 at 12:00pm.
